Each of these sculptures are made 100% from tape. I mix different types and brands to get the best shapes and details as possible.
Please note that this is just a public portfolio and none of these are for sale. I do not accept commissions unless you were to offer me a minimum of like 5 figures or something. It would genuinely have to be an insane amount of money.
Listen, I have difficulty using my hands (check my about section for more details). It takes me hundreds of hours to sculpt some of these and dozens more to paint. It can take years to finish them. It can be excruciating for my hands. Itβs just not worth it to me, to have my blood, sweat, tears, physical pain and passion exchanged for a few bucks. These sculptures are for me and for my husband to enjoy. And thatβs how I maintain joy in my craft. Itβs not about the money, for me. Itβs about the joy. I really donβt want to part with them.

But like, WHY TAPE, tho??
For 4 years, I couldnβt hold a pencil or paint brush or sculpting tools. But tape? Tape is easy. It sticks to itself, it folds and shapes with ease. My disability doesnβt get in the way of my creative energy when tape is my medium because I donβt need to grip any tools or use my hand-strength if Iβm unable to.
Tape. Tape became my escape, my solace, my passion. Tape is my happy place.
It burns an irreverent fire in my soul. And with that, I create the dumbest, coolest sh!t.

How did it start!?!?!???!?!
I grew up with Tape Sculptures in my life. My dad created little Justice League figures when I was a kid. He created a skull and a severed hand for Halloween.

On top of that - as a millennial, in high school, you werenβt cool unless you had a Duct Tape wallet. Some of us even learned to make flowers. We covered our belts and shoes. Duct Tape obsessed!
The more Duct Tape you were covered in, the cooler you were.
Because of these two factors, Tape was always obvious medium to me. It never crossed my mind that it was weird, or unusual. It was more surprising to me that people were so shocked that my sculptures were made out of Tape! *shrug?*
But most of all, I like to make pieces that make people smile. I love to see my husbandβs eyes alight with a twinkle of amusement, with the purest joy and amazement. There is no better moment than that. I get butterflies.. So when I showed my first piece in an art gallery, I saw so many people express that same joy with that twinkle of amusement. To see their reaction as they exclaimed βTHATβS MADE OUT OF TAPE!?β was amazing! When they laugh in glee or disbelief, it fills my heart. Itβs a high, lemme tell ya! Iβm addicted! It makes me want to create more and more and continue practicing and mastering shape and detail with this unusual medium. To continue stretching what is possibly to accomplish and keep rendering art that bring joy, amusement and disbelief to everyone who sees it.
